Just this side of
heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone
here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and
hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play
together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our
friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health
and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and
strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and
times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one
small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who
had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one
suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from
the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him
faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be
parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands
again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the
trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sadly
Beau who came to live with us early in February 2005 had several
clusters of Seizures Christmas morning beginning around 2 a.m.
and continued with seizures until about 10 a.m. I contacted Carl
and Shirley his former owners and they came in from Indy on
Monday. Tuesday morning we all headed to my vet's with heavy
hearts. Beau was not the same after this series of seizures.
It's like the lights were on but no one was home. We put Beau
down with all who loved him around on December 27, 2005. He is
terribly missed by us all. |

Volvo
- This was Krista's hamster who lived a VERY long life for a
hamster. We had to have the full funeral in the backyard for
him. He lived to be 6 years old. |

This
was my beloved "JR". Flits Grand Finale was his registered name
and he was the BEST horse I ever had. As a stallion he was
gentile and always a gentleman. I had never owned a stud horse
until JR. I will never have another like him. He died shortly
after my son Kyle was born. It took me a long time to get over
his death(1988)and it was almost 10 years before I could get
another horse. |

This
is Cardinal. She belonged to a dear friend of mine who allowed
me to lease her and I was able to get a filly out of her for
myself. Wonder was a wonder as she was born when Cardinal was 24
years old. Cardinal died at the old age of 29 years. |

Three
came to us when my son Kyle was very small. I had a neighbor who
kept having kittens and would always bring the one she couldn't
get rid of too me. Any wonder she needed know the term "spay and
neuter" ?! At any rate Three only became Three after he was
about a year old. He crossed the road-bad timing and was stuck
by a car. I had his leg
amputated
and he lived 12 more years. He never crossed the road after that
without looking both ways. He died in 2002 in his sleep.
Fluffy came a few years later from the SAME person....and he
lived to be 13 years. Fluffy was a funny cat. We shaved him off
in summer and he thought that was just great. He went into
kidney failure and he is buried next to Three. He died in 2004. |
